Well hello there...

Hello I’m Sarah, the face behind The Gifted Bee!  

I live in Newcastle under Lyme, Staffordshire with my husband and 2 teenage sons.  In 2019 I left my job in finance, not really knowing what to do next but I knew I wanted to do something creative.

My timing worked well with the pandemic as we were home schooling at both primary and high schools.  During that time I made ‘thinking of you’ cards with Hedgehug magnets on the front which I sent to friends and family to say that we were thinking of them in those strange times we experienced.

I had previously made gifts at Christmas for my colleagues - little personalised dog bone shaped Christmas tree decorations and gingerbread men decorations too - both were well received.

When I wanted alternative Easter gifts for my sons, niece and nephew I made little bunny shaped gift bags with their names stitched on the front - I still use them today!  Filling them with mini eggs for the boys.

I kept toying with the idea of making personalised gifts to sell and after constantly talking to my husband about it, he encouraged me to go for it!  I’m not the most confident person and I have found starting a small business to be quite daunting - especially marketing and social media!  There has been lots to learn and lots that I’m still learning but I have gradually gained confidence over years when people have ordered from me and trusted me to create some really special keepsakes - it is such an honour.
