These are a few of my favourite things...

My head went straight to the sound of music then!

But really I do have a few favourite items that I love to make and a few were from ideas that were given to me by customers asking if I could make a special gift.

Cloud and ABC

The first product I really enjoy making are my personalised cloud decorations made from the softest wool felt and given the personal touch with the new arrivals name and often extra details on the reverse.  The addition of date of birth, weight and time born are newer features which make the keepsake and nursery decoration that little more special!  I have made & gifted these to friends too - I love them so much and the fact that they look great hanging in a nursery.

Horseshoe redHorseshoe poem

Another special gift I was asked to make was the personalised horseshoe decoration. The original specification was to add the date of the marriage, a little bit of sparkle and a blue ribbon - this was something I wouldn’t have thought about making but I’m so glad I did.  I’ve gone on to add further personalisation (names) along with a little poem which is included in the gift box.

Kiln 4

I really wanted to create a local gift or keepsake and I had drawn a bottle kiln in my notebook but wasn’t quite sure how to use it.  When I was stocked in my very first local shop, I decided to turn the bottle kiln into a key ring or bag charm and I added the words “Ay Up Duck” onto it.  If you’re a local Stokie or have spent time in the Potteries area you will know it means “Hello, how are you?”  I also made them into a limited edition keyring for the Stoke on Trent Centenary in 2025 for a special bulk order.

SAS with tree

I’m not quite sure where this last product idea came from but I decided to create the Sprout Adoption Scheme or SAS for short for Christmas a few years ago to take to a local school fayre - they were (and still are!) a great talking point.  I made the little sprout body in the same way that I make my pumpkins but then I added sprout leaves and different faces to give them all different characters!! Initially I gave them names and they came in a brown paper bag which I handmade but then I upgraded the bags to little boxes and included a little adoption certificate - in the hope that they could be gifted immediately and when put into storage for the year they had a little box to keep them safe.  More additions are on their way as I introduced the Cosy Crew and Baby Buddy sprouts last year.

I can’t think of any products that I don’t like making really - some are a bit fiddly but I use a gorgeous wool blend felt for most of my creations which is so lovely to cut and sew.  I love taking a boring looking piece of felt and turning it into something really special and treasured for years.
